How to play Scorpion Solitaire

Bring your attention to one round of Scorpion Solitaire. Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Seven columns; three stock cards dealt once to the first three columns. Free solo play, no wagering.

Read before acting

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Take a moment to understand the current position.

Step by step

  1. Move a face-up card with its tail onto the next higher same-suit rank. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

The trailing cards may be unordered, but the destination suit and rank must match. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Check the stated objective.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Check the rule before repeating the action. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
