How to play Pyramid Solitaire

Bring your attention to one round of Pyramid Solitaire. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Read the objective before making your first input. Look at what changes after your first action.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

A careful first round

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use one clear input at a time.

A useful example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
